These tiny carvings live inside this apothecary style bottle as a holiday ornament! Since small straw versions of the Yule Goat already live as ornaments, I thought I’d put my own carved/pressed spin on the ancient symbol of Yuletide cheer!

Description of Yule Goat symbol/tradition is included on additional piece of paper within each ornament:

“The Yule Goat is a Scandinavian and Northern European Yule and Christmas symbol / tradition. Its origin may be Germanic Pagan and has existed in many variants during history. In ancient Pagan festivals, the last sheaf of grain bundled in the harvest was credited with magical properties as the “Spirit of the Harvest” and saved for the Yule celebrations. Representations of the Yule Goat are typically made of straw, with modern times being hung as ornaments on a tree.”
